Associate Principal's Message

I am honored to serve the students and families of the School of Digital Media & Design. Back in 2004 I was part of the team that opened Kearny DMD, and it has been one of the greatest joys of my life to participate in the transformative work at DMD. My experience at DMD first as a teacher and now as an administrator has taught me so much about the power of dedication, collaboration, and perseverance to transform the lives of students.

At DMD our staff are committed to supporting students so that they are truly ready for college and career. Our school culture is collaborative, which means that students and teachers work in teams to solve real-world problems through rigorous project-based learning. Our students have full access to the Mesa College program at Kearny, so many DMD grads already have passed multiple college classes prior to graduation.

Above all else, we want our students to be flexible thinkers who can analyze the world through a critical lens, use innovative thinking to develop solutions, and make a difference in the lives of others through civic engagement. With these 21st-century skills embedded in the curriculum, DMD students are ready for the challenges of college and career.
